Clarks Originals Desert Boot 65th Anniversary

Trends come and go but some products survive the ever changing landscape of ‘fashion’ when this happens the certain product is given iconic status. The desert boot has deservingly been given the iconic status. It crosses so many genres and demographics, every man should have at least one pair in their wardrobe. To celebrate its 65th birthday on the 18th March a special edition boot has been created in Maple Suede fabric which was used to make the first ever Desert Boot. Marc Newson x G-Star RAW 10th Anniversary Collection

G-Star hasnt really been a brand that I’ve ever worn myself, but I have respect for what they have done over the years as a brand. but this collection I really like. They celebrate 10 years with famed architect and industrial designer Marc Newson with the release of their Autumn Winter 2014 collection. Considering how long we see most collaborations stick around, this is pretty significant. The season’s centerpiece is a Reversible Tour Jacket featuring patches that represent a decade’s worth of graphics. Other standouts include the Seven Day Suite, a wool piece that can be treated just like your denim — no washing or ironing. I will 100% be purchasing some of the collection.Look for the collection at global G-Star outlets this October 15.

Nike Free 10th Anniversary Genealogy of Free Black Pack

Nike continues to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Free sole technology with the release of a new “Genealogy of Free” Black Pack. The pack is a follow-up to the initial “Genealogy of Free” pack — which debuted a few weeks ago — and includes the Nike Free OG, Air Presto, Sock Racer and Free Run+ 2. In other words, it makes its way through the years of Nike Running, with some of the line’s best-loved sneakers making an appearance. All four sneakers are dressed in a tidy black colorway, with grey outsoles featuring the now-familiar black speckles. A beautiful all-round package — one which has aged incredibly well — the Black Pack will be available through select Nike retailers from April 22.

Featuring a streamlined silhouette, the simple monotone upper is made of a hairy suede that is contrasted by white laces. A light brown leather patch accents the heel portion of the ankle closure. Oliver Peoples for Porter Sunglasses

In celebration of Porter‘s 50th anniversary last year, the eyewear specialists at Oliver Peoples have teamed with the Japanese label to create a line of travel-friendly foldable sunglasses. Rendered in acetate, with titanium parts in a spectrum of five original colors, the frames are made in Japan from premium Japanese and Italian materials. More importantly, the sunglasses are all folding sunglasses. This being a joint effort with Porter, each pair also comes complete with a Porter-made neoprene sleeve that keeps your precious specs in good nick and makes for easy transport.

Danner Light Boot 80th Anniversary Edition

Based in Portland, Oregon, Danner has been making boots since 1932. To celebrate the occasion, the label has hooked up this special edition of its Light boot. The movers were manufactured in Portland using Horween sourced leather and GORE-TEX on the upper, which is built on a Goodyear welted Vibram Kletterlift sole.

Stone Island 30 Exhibition, Florence

Last week I had the pleasure to be invited to Stone Island’s launch of an exhibition to celebrate 30 years of their existence, showing off their extensive archive with over 200 items which seeing them in all their glory blew me away. The exhibition dates, outlines the treatments, production and processes that resulted in their creation. On display is the results of Stone Island’s experimentation and innovation that has made them the leading outerwear brand on the planet. Some of the earliest ‘archive’ jackets on display are so innovative that other brands couldn’t produce them now 30 years on. With 2012 marking thirty years of Stone Island, the Autumn Winter collection is something of a celebration with a selection of anniversary pieces that revive and rework iconic styles throughout the brands history.

In 1982, Stone Island was founded with just one fabric in 6 different colours. Thirty years later, the exact replica from the first collection can be seen in this jacket. This exclusive fabric was inspired by a study on the technical and functional features of tarpaulins for military trucks. This cotton cloth is impregnated on both sides with contrasting pigment resin. The fabric undergoes a long lasting enzyme wash to achieve a faded appearance. The result is a wind resistant material, with a flavour of marine old weather corroded oilskin pieces. Available for Pre Order here.
