Inked Magazine: A Day With Zombie Boy

Inked Magazine releases a behind-the-scenes video featuring Rick Genest, more commonly referred to as Zombie Boy. We’ve seen him most recently in Lady Gaga’s Born This Way video, while he originally burst onto the scene thanks to being cast as essentially the face of fashion house Mugler. Having a background teaming up with contemporary carnivals doing work as a clown, fire play and flesh pulling techniques, it’s safe to say that he’s one-of-a-kind. In the video, he gives us some insight about what it’s like to be him, and the projects he’s been up to lately, something we don’t get to see often on camera. The video is directed by Michael Hurley and will be released in November.

Mastermind x Converse Jack Purcell Hi

Metal studs, black leather, skull motifs… all dead giveaway of this CONVERSE Jack Purcell Hi as a collaboration with mastermind JAPAN. Fresh off from its project with another Harajuku start-up, A Bathing Ape,  the mastermind JAPAN x CONVERSE Jack Purcell Hi is in many ways a throwback to height of the so-called Harajuku culture a few years back, where black and white were the only color available anywhere. Accentuated with black leather ankle collar and studs, a zipper runs nearly vertical on the shoe’s side for easy entry. All black cotton canvas highlighted by contrast white stitching and the ubiquitous skull & cross bones embroidery on the heel panel.  A cryptic message of “mastermind” and “love & peace” adorned the toe cap edge.  As with all mastermind JAPAN collaborations, this CONVERSE Jack Purcell Hi will be available at a select few CONVERSE retail locations this coming December 1st.

While it’s been a tough week for Clarks lover Vybz Kartel – he’ll be exchanging Clarks for cigarettes if convicted – but he should look on the bright side, his favourite shoe company has done a great collab!
