Nike x Mr Brainwash ‘Just Did It’ & ‘MBW’

nike-air-force-1-mr-brainwash-700x357Mr. Brainwash has joined forces with Nike to do what he does best: Make things that can vaguely pass as art, and sell them for shit-tons of money. The controversial street artist has put his mark on two popular silhouettes, which is really just a fancy way of saying he messily splattered them with paint. They are available in the “We Just Did It” sneaker which is a modified version of the Air Force One, and the “MBW Shoe” which is a new spin on the Nike Internationalist. Not a colab I’ll be picking up but no doubt they will be swept up by relsellers and appear at the likes of Crepe City for a small fortune. I’m off to Jackson Pollock my Air Force Ones…They’ll both be available for purchase here starting June 26th in extremely limited quantities.

Nike Sneaker Illustrations by Jack Stocker

20121115-080119.jpg

Jack Stocker is an illustrator with an interesting take on sneakers. Created as part of his final project for college, this set of six illustrations is a unique interpretation of Nike footwear and more specifically the Nike Air range.

Clean and minimal, the illustrations strip away the detail within the shoes, forcing the viewer to focus on the basic parts of the silhouette and the iconic colors that create it. Jack selected the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Air Max 180, Air Huarache LE, Air Flow and Air Max Light for this project.

Head over to The Daily Street for an exclusive interview with the artist.

New Banksy Work : Olympics

With the 2012 London Olympics set to begin this Friday, Banksy gets in on the pomp and circumstance with two new works that tackle the athletic competition. Adding his signature political wit, the javelin and pole vault are given a twist – presenting each athlete as both a long-range arms dealer as well as an eager prison escapee. With the games mere days away, expect a lot more “cheekiness” from the Bristol-native.

Montana BLACK 2g USB Stick

With options like Dropbox, Drive and iCloud you probably have little or no use for anything that connects via USB that isn’t a keyboard or mouse. But if you do find yourself taking the occasional file to or from work, Montana has a new 2GB USB stick that’s cooler than most others. Based on their famous BLACK spray paint can, Montana has introduced a new line of jump drives available in knock-out blue, irish green and pure orange. Pop the top off the can and get to work–even if the only tagging you do these days is on Facebook. Price is still TBC

Coca-Cola x PLAY Comme des Garçons

Just shortly after having shown you the upcoming Bape x PLAY COMME des GARCONS Collection, here is a look at another interesting project. Created by design student Ashley Shen, we can actually not confirm at this point wether or not the project is becoming reality, yet it looks so great that we wanted you to see it.

Ahsley Shen created designs for a limited edition collaboration between Coca-Cola and PLAY COMME des GARCONS. Presented are three designs, that package the classic Coke can in the PLAY design. We would certainly love for these to be released.

KAWS x Ikepod Horizon Watch

Here is another compelling project featuring the illustrious Brooklyn based artist, KAWS with a custom-designed Ikepod Horizon Wristwatch. Fusing the Swiss watchmaker’s affinity for contemporary and modern timepieces, this design is highlighted by the signature KAWS Chomper teeth motif emblazoned across the black dial with the dual lines of his “X” graphic comprising the hour and minute hand.

The Simpsons Exit Through The Kwik-E-Mart Scenes

Check out these scenes from The Simpsons street art themed episode, “Exit Through The Kwik-E-Mart,” with Shepard Fairey, Robbie Conal, Kenny Scharf, Ron English and of course Bart Simpson’s graffiti personality El Barto. In the episode Bart plasters Homer’s face all-over town with “Dope” stencils and posters resembling Fairey’s famous “Obey” artwork…we’ll have to wait in the UK to watch it, unless you download it from a certain swash buckling website!!!

A History Of Supreme Poster Campaigns

20120216-085521.jpg

For some time now Supreme, the New York skate brand, plasters New York and other cities housing their flagship stores (Tokyo, Los Angeles, London) with posters announcing their soon to arrive new collection of the season and at the same time their latest collaborative effort.

We reported this morning about their Spring 2012 Campaign featuring Kate Moss. The top model has a special standing with Supreme fans, as one of the most iconic tees to ever come from the brand features Moss with the Supreme box logo on top of her panties. To date, that is one of the hardest Supreme t-shirts to get your hands on.

With the excitement around the new campaign and hopefully product that will come along the way in the next weeks, we thought it might be interesting to take a look at the past poster ad campaigns by the brand, featuring Lou Reed (2009), Lady Gaga (2011), Mike Tyson (2007), Dipset (2006), Raekwon & Ghostface & Elmo (2005) and Kermit The Frog (2008). They have kept us busy from 2006 – 2012.
