A BATHING APE is celebrating the 10th anniversary of one of its most iconic pieces — the indispensable Shark Hoodie — with a capsule collection featuring a quartet of reissued hoodies. Built with signature full zip detailing that extends to the hood, and adorned with 10th anniversary branding on the left front pocket, the revamped pieces include an all-white and all-black edition with reflective print. All four come in special packaging and feature Swarovski crystals for a distinctively luxe aesthetic. The collection, rounded out by a quartet of matching tees, (surely just to call this an anniversary collection) is scheduled to launch through BAPE’s online store on October 25

At it’s height, BAPE held the crown of streetwear like no other. Since the brand was sold by founder NIGO for the bargain price of $3m, the brand’s relevance has faded to the point that its once iconic ape head and camo patterns are a rarity on streets now awash with box logos and avant-garde sportswear. This like many colabs today are just lazy marketing companies getting together. but that being said who wouldnt want a AAPE Camo Xbox One, on sale in Japan now.

BBC x A Bathing Ape Capsule Collection

Such is the case with the recently unveiled collaborative project between BBC and BAPE, released in continuing celebration of A Bathing Ape’s 20th anniversary. The two brands come together to not only commemorate, but also celebrate their long-standing relationship – given Pharrell Williams and NIGO started Billionaire Boys Club in 2003. Accordingly, a series of t-shirts have been released with custom graphics that overlap BBC and BAPE’s intergalactic motifs. Look for the t-shirts to drop at Billionaire Boys Club in Tokyo and selected A Bathing Ape retail locations.

Nowhere & A Bathing Ape Present Bapeland Exhibition

NOWHERE and A Bathing Ape present “BAPELAND,” an exhibition held in NIGO‘s former home and studio in Tokyo. Considered the heart and soul of the brand, NIGO’s former studio served as a repository for the vast trove pop-culture pieces the designer has accrued throughout his life. For the brand’s 20th anniversary, it has decided to open up the studio to let fans get a closer look at this treasure chest of good. The exhibition includes iconic BAPE pieces, cars, furniture, art, jewelry and much more. “BAPELAND” is running from now until November 24 in Tokyo so if you happen to be in the area, be sure to check it out.
