Famous Designers Get The Lego Treatment

Building upon the success of the recently released LEGO movie, the Danish toy company treated four famous fashion designers with a brick makeover. The set of figurines comprises Donatella Versace, Alber Elbaz, Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld, and was created exclusively for Harper’s Bazaar. According to the magazine, matching ateliers and a LEGO-fyed entourage are sold separately. No word yet on when and where the sets will be available or if they will even see a general release at all.

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Lego Set

Fans of the smash hit 1984 film Ghostbusters are to get special edition Lego figures and can build a spectre-hunting car to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. Danish toy company Lego has unveiled its first ever Ghostbusters set, which includes the iconic Ecto-1 car and characters of all four comedy heroes. Ivan Reitman’s comedy Ghostbusters, starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, first hit the screen in 1984 and spawned a two not so good sequels.

The 508-piece Lego set features the team’s paranormal detection equipment, iconic Ghostbusters logo and the four figures will all have their ghost-hunting backpacks. Super-fan Brent Waller got the chance to design the kit, on sale in June, after receiving more than 10,000 votes as part of Lego’s CUUSOO campaign to allow fans to come up with their own sets.

Acting on his own curiosity, graphic illustrator Simeon Georgiev created 3D renderings of LEGO figures sporting a few streetwear brands that currently grace his closet, including Supreme, Hood By Air and Boy London. LEGO ‘The Simpsons’ House Set

After confirming a LEGO set based off the long-running television series The Simpsons in August, the Danish toy company has unveiled the first part of the anticipated collaboration. The collaboration will take two forms. The first, a LEGO set, depicting the Simpson’s iconic home recreated in brick form – complete with figurines of Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Homer, Marge and Ned Flanders. The second, a LEGO-themed episode of The Simpsons, is set to air on FOX in May of 2014. The set pays extra attention to detail including the family’s car, Bart’s skateboard, a radioactive isotope and more. Look for the set to hit LEGO stores andLego.com on February 1
