Marc Newson x G-Star RAW 10th Anniversary Collection

G-Star-Marc-Newson-01-630x445G-Star hasnt really been a brand that I’ve ever worn myself, but I have respect for what they have done over the years as a brand. but this collection I really like. They celebrate 10 years with famed architect and industrial designer Marc Newson with the release of their Autumn Winter 2014 collection. Considering how long we see most collaborations stick around, this is pretty significant. The season’s centerpiece is a Reversible Tour Jacket featuring patches that represent a decade’s worth of graphics. Other standouts include the Seven Day Suite, a wool piece that can be treated just like your denim — no washing or ironing.  I will 100% be purchasing some of the collection.Look for the collection at global G-Star outlets this October 15.G-Star-Marc-Newson-02-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-03-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-04-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-05-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-06-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-07-630x445

Rihanna By Mario Sorrenti for LUI Magazine

rihanna-by-mario-sorrenti-for-lui-magazine-4

I’m loving LUI Magazine its like an arty Jazz Mag…Kate Moss one month Rhianna the next! The Barbadian beauty chose to shake hands with French LUI Magazine, which boasts a longstanding track record of semi-nude models. Shot by Mario Sorrenti who has coincidentally worked with Vogue in the past as well as names including Harper’s Bazaar, the shoot stays on par with the singer’s approach; styled in braids and a bucket hat on the cover. While Sorrenti and Rihanna chose to forego a subtle approach, Ri-Ri can be seen laying out in a number of provocative poses, giving viewers a candid view of the Carribean queen’s more intimate tattoos.

Kopbox Celebrates 20 Years of the Supreme Box Logo

Supeme 1

With all the hype surrounding the seminal ‘box logo’ T-shirts that Supreme released for its 20th anniversary, retailer Kopbox dug into its archives to compile the various iterations the iconic logo has seen over the years. Some may fondly recall the collaborations with KAWS or A Bathing Ape, which may have been its first interaction with either brand – Supreme has done its fair share of trendsetting over the years. Yet digging further, the myriad two-toned, monogrammed, and straight up deconstructed versions of the ol’ box logo are a fond trip down memory lane for any fan. Enjoy samples here, then head to Kopbox’s site for the full archive.

maison-kitsune-yasmine-eslami-valentines-capsule-lookbook-1This post is for no other reason than I can!! Though V-Day is pretty far behind us now, that didn’t stop Maison Kitsuné and Paris-based lingerie designer Yasmine Eslami from getting together to shoot a special lookbook for their Valentine’s capsule collection. Featuring South African model Shané van der Westhuizen, the lookbook was shot by Henrik Purienne.

The capsule was inspired by the Paris in the ’70s and consists of a panty and bra set available in black or white. It is currently available at Maison Kitsune and through Yasmine Eslami’s website.maison-kitsune-yasmine-eslami-valentines-capsule-lookbook-3 maison-kitsune-yasmine-eslami-valentines-capsule-lookbook-2 shane-van-der-westhuizen-models-maison-kitsune-x-yasmine-eslamis-lingerie-collection-4

Nike Free Orbit II SP

20140422-083101.jpg

Following up on the Nike Lunar Orbit from 2011, which was by the way designed by Nathan VanHook – the same Nike designer that was responsible for the Nike Air Yeezy 2 – the brand presents this month the new Nike Free Orbit II SP. The slip-on sneaker comes with a full black upper and sits on a white Nike Free 5.0 outer sole. For easier entry there is a small side zipper. The pyramid stud upper reminds us of the recently released LunarTerra Arktos SP boots, which were also designed by VanHook. Look out for a release of the sneaker in the coming weeks from select retailers around the globe.

Supreme 20th Anniversary Collection

supreme-20th-anniversary-collection-2-960x640New York skate brand Supreme celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. We actually like the fact that they keep it simple for this one. They could have done a series of high profile collaborations, but we get that from Supreme basically all year already. For their 20th anniversary the brand presents a Taxi Driver-inspired graphic T-shirt, their iconic box logo T-shirt, as well as both graphics on a skateboard deck. These two T-shirts were released on opening day 20 years ago and these two will be released for the occasion. And that’s it!
The Supreme 20th anniversary collection will release at its own stores in New York, Los Angeles, London and online on April 24, and in Japan on April 26.supreme-20th-anniversary-collection-6-960x640 supreme-20th-anniversary-collection-7-960x640 supreme-20th-anniversary-collection-5-960x640 supreme-20th-anniversary-collection-3-960x640
