Marc Newson x G-Star RAW 10th Anniversary Collection

G-Star-Marc-Newson-01-630x445G-Star hasnt really been a brand that I’ve ever worn myself, but I have respect for what they have done over the years as a brand. but this collection I really like. They celebrate 10 years with famed architect and industrial designer Marc Newson with the release of their Autumn Winter 2014 collection. Considering how long we see most collaborations stick around, this is pretty significant. The season’s centerpiece is a Reversible Tour Jacket featuring patches that represent a decade’s worth of graphics. Other standouts include the Seven Day Suite, a wool piece that can be treated just like your denim — no washing or ironing.  I will 100% be purchasing some of the collection.Look for the collection at global G-Star outlets this October 15.G-Star-Marc-Newson-02-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-03-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-04-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-05-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-06-630x445 G-Star-Marc-Newson-07-630x445

G-Star Raw Essentials

Celebrating the craftsmanship, functionality and intricate details that catapulted G-Star to denim fame long before hip-hop celebs began sporting their jeans, the brand has taken it back to their 1989 roots with their new collection, Raw Essentials.
Hitting stores this week, the collection includes key pieces like boiled wool cardigans and leather jackets but remains chiefly focused on selvedge denim. With deconstructed accents—like abrasion marks and hand-painted rivets— the jeans have an overall worn-in feel, while details like hand-sewn stitching between fabric panels reveal themselves only on closer inspection. Shot by Anton Corbijn, the face of G-Star’s Autumn/Winter 2010 and Raw Essentials collections is 19-year-old chess champion Magnus Carlson. To celebrate the season’s launch, G-Star is assembling a three-member team of first-rate international chess champions for its RAW World Chess Challenge on 10 September 2010 in NYC to play against Carlson, with the public’s input.
