When you think Italian fashion design, Armani, Valentino and Versace spring to mind, having paved the way for strong, bold aesthetics. Quality and tailoring is also intrinsic to the Italian sensibility. A new label that epitomises both has emerged from a 20-year strong lineage. Italian company “Paoloni Group” launched a new label “MSGM” recently with strong acceptance domestically and internationally with the likes of Harvey Nichols, Joyce, Lane Crawford, Matches and Browns plus being named as one of the best new emerging designers for Vogue Talents Check out more here

New York Cosmos Kit By Umbro

A bit of soccer news that might surprise a few of you. The New York Cosmos, famed for bringing Pele to the United States in the 1970s, has reformed. As part of the rebirth, Umbro has come on as official kit supplier and applied the same balance of fine tailoring and on-field performance we’ve seen in the latest England strips.

A bit about the New York Cosmos-

Under new passionate ownership, The New York Cosmos continues its tradition of greatness for the next generation and vows to maintain the same ethos that made The New York Cosmos the most celebrated soccer club in the history of the United States. During its existence from 1971-1985, The New York Cosmos won five national championships. Today, as part of its rebirth and with soccer legend and former Cosmos star Pelé as the Honorary President, The New York Cosmos will continue to inspire and develop the youth through academies, camps and clinics while also attracting world-class soccer players to participate in its soccer movement. The club’s ultimate vision is to be a part of Major League Soccer and to compete for the championship.

Relaunched in August 2010, The New York Cosmos is committed to helping improve the future of football with significant investment in grassroots and youth football, and providing elite coaching philosophies and training opportunities.

The New York Cosmos has launched two elite youth academies, Cosmos Academy East (in New York) and Cosmos Academy West (in Los Angeles) with former Major League Soccer stars Giovanni Savarese and Teddy Chronopoulos appointed as Academy Directors, respectively.  Both academies participate in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. Furthermore, The New York Cosmos acquired the Copa NYC tournament, and beyond running it every year in New York, they will be looking to expand it both domestically and internationally in order to engage more local communities to participate in the global game’ at a grassroots level.

The kit is available to buy from in December.

The coatigan, they call it. And whether you enjoy the tabloid trend of crunching two words into one or not, this one is relevant. For the knitwear as outerwear look is an excellent solution for the in-between season.

And as it gets a touch colder, with a shrunken, close fitting jacket paired with a heavy knit you can rejuvenate the way you warm your cockles this autumn. It’s dead simple. Just pop your jacket on over the top of your T-shirt, polo or shirt and either fasten it right up and then pop your big heavy gauge knit on over the top. Heres a good selction on ‘Coatigans’

Present x Heritage Research

Heritage Research have created a special capsule collection of heavy American sporting jackets for London menswear store PRESENT.  The collection consists of a varsity and a stadium jacket, both kept very clean and simple with oversized collaborative branding in a classic fashion on the front and none on the back. The varsity jackets are made from heavy-weight Melton wool and premium full-grain vegetable tanned leather and come in a Black/Charcoal or Navy/Tan colourway, whilst the stadium jackets are made completely from heavy-weight Melton wool and come in Charcoal, Chocolate and Navy colourways. All are lined with diamond quilted rayon acetate and branded with chenille embroidered badges made on vintage American shuttle looms for the truly legit look and feel.
Essentially, you don’t get much fresher than this when it comes to varsity or stadium jackets. Not only is it two incredible UK modern menswear forces in one product, but they are made from the highest quality products, the fit is spot on and they’re very limited in numbers. Bag em now at PRESENT
