In one of the more unexpected collaborations of the season, Carhartt has teamed up with Steele Canvas Basket on a pair of stylish laundry carts. The laundry carts feature canvas bodies attached to steel frames with leather used on the top edges. To help with portability, the laundry cart also features four roller wheels and two carry handles. The collaborative series from A.P.C. and Carhartt continues with their release for 2013 Autumn Winter that sees a drop of outerwear, basics and accessories. The former brand’s affiliation for clean aesthetics serves as the design direction for the collection with a limited color scheme synonymous with the season, and minimalistic styling save for branding and the collection’s boat icon. Carhartt then lends their quality tailoring in crafting the line that will see an October 18 release.
No longer a traveling solution just for DJs, Carhartt WIP and UDG recently expanded their collaborative luggage collection to include Travel Trolley in Small and Medium, in addition to the Slingbag, and all-time DJ’s favorite, the Slingbag Trolly Deluxe. Now in Carhartt‘s original “Island Camouflage”, each comes sizable compartments as well as copious amount of storage, both inside and out. Made to last in either famously durable duck canvas or polyester cloth, each is resistant to water, dust, dirt, and occasional spilled drinks. Along with the new camo pattern, the collection is still available in black or the traditional Carhartt Brown. Available soon here
While camouflage has seen its fair share of the fashion spotlight over the past few years — having been used across everything from shirts and pants to accessories and shoes — Flecktarn camouflage is one of the lesser-tapped motifs. Said to be designed around the 1930s, the disruptive pattern was originally developed for use in woodland terrain and is traditionally seen in a mixture of three to six-color iterations. Laying claim to the iconic camo, Carhartt has once again aligned with Vans for a special Winter 2012 Old Skool option.
The pair dons the outdoor aesthetic quite well with the majority of the classic silhouette generously enveloped in the green, brown and black. While the disruptive pattern traces its way into the interior across the shoe’s footbed, hits of rich brown leather across the toe cap panel and along the lace vamp are a welcome delineation that effectively breaks apart the shoe’s layers. Metal eyelets, a supple corduroy tongue and threaded boot laces augment the aesthetic and provide a nice completion to the Old Skool.
