The Jordans Obama Got Before Anyone Else…

obama-exclusives

Remember a few weeks back when President Obama visited the Nike campus to talk about the Trans-Pacific Partnership that has caused quite the stir since? Well, as another part of the trip, the leader of the free world also received some custom sneakers. No, these aren’t your struggle NikeiD Huaraches or some shit because, again, this is the Commander-in-chief we’re talking about. Obama got laced with two new renditions of the Jordan I and Jordan XXIX and T Magazine got the exclusive look at the pairs that OB Obama might very well cross up his chief of staff in on the White House court. Though, like, you gotta let him win regardless. You can’t be out here posterizing the dude with the power to send you straight to Guantanamo. OG Nike design legends Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker, plus the Jumpman himself, Michael Jordan, teamed up to create the two pair “MTM” pack Nike is releasing in June in celebration of 30 years of the Air Jordan brand. Obviously, when you’re the goddamn president, you’re firmly team early. I mean, nobody is a bigger #influencer than the big homie.

The Jordan Is get a slick FlyWeave construction in black and grey, while the XXIXs come in smooth black leather. The sneakers will be dropping in a crazy limited two-pair pack on June 13th at NikeLab Paris and later on June 26th at Jordan Brand’s website and select Jordan outlets for a rumoured hefty £460

Decked out in leather with a nylon tongue and sporting a Black/Varsity Red-Sail colorway, the kicks retain their classic “Nike Air” branding on the tongue and see the iconic wings logo at the heel.

Air Jordan 1 Laser 30th Anniversary

Jordan Brand looks to commemorate its 30th anniversary by bringing back the somewhat-scrutinized laser treatment. Here we get a look at the technique on the special “30th Anniversary” edition of the Air Jordan 1 Laser. The white leather upper is overshadowed by metallic laser printing utilized all throughout. A 3M reflective Swoosh brands the pair alongside, matching the tongue tag marking accordingly. Equipped with tonal laces, the AJ1’s then showcase a translucent outsole on the bottom. Look for the Air Jordan 1 Laser “30th Anniversary” to release on February 8

Following their luxuriously inclined Air Jordan 4 “Don” Custom, Dank Customs presents the “Red Don.” Taking cues from both Kanye West’s collaboration with Louis Vuitton and the recently released Red October, the sneaker customizer’s latest effort douses the one-of-a-kind basketball shoe in red with intricate details taking the form of the French fashion house’s iconic monogram. While the all-red sneaker looks fantastic overall, perhaps most impressive is the seamless blend between materials like plastic, leather and suede.
