Erik Schedin’s Sneaker Collection for Comme des Garcon SHIRT

Comme-Des-Garcons-Shirt-Erik-Schedin-Sneakers-2-630x441Erik Schedin‘s simple, unfussy sneakers were originally part of his 2004 final degree show at Beckmans College of Design, Stockholm. Four years later they were being stocked at the likes of Dover Street Market, Mr Mudd & Mr Gold and his own online store, a small selection of cleverly chosen goods. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of their release, Schedin has got together with Comme Des Garçons SHIRT for Spring 2014, taking that clean white canvas and adding three black images. Production having moved from Vietnam to Italy, the shoes are still fitted with the same sole sourced for his early project. Sold exclusively at Dover Street Market, find them here.

DSM A Bathing Ape x Comme des Garcon PLAY Preview

Given the huge overlap in their consumer base and their similarly bold graphics, the only question at this point may be how did it take so long for this collaboration to happen? As soon as the news hit the internet of the A Bathing Ape x COMME des GARÇONS team up, a frenzied release was almost guaranteed. And while we don’t have word of a release date yet, we do have a preview of the upcoming collection to give you a feel for what to expect. Much like the ominous image accompanying the initial announcement, the t-shirts from the collaboration feature the respective logos of the two entities smashed together, like the infamous ape head above repping the wide eyed COMME des GARÇONS look. Keep your eyes peeled for more styles & drop dates here

Pointer x Comme des Garcons

Pointer’s simplicity of the aesthetic is key in making them such a valued find. The recent announcement of a collaborative effort between the footwear brand and fashion powerhouse CDG definitely adds a level of intrigue and distinguished class to the brand and while Kawakubo designs are typically out of reach to the mainstream, this collection keeps it simple and casual. Almost too simple to be honest, as we’re missing some flair and controversy in these leather laceups and loafers based on previous Tanju, Barajas II and Angus silhouettes. Still you can’t miss the understated style that Comme des Garcons evidently brought to the table for this collaboration. Available for Autumn/Winter 2010, exclusively through Comme des Garcons channels.

Comme des Garçons x Tretorn

Japanese fashion favorite, Comme des Garçons, is teaming up with Swedish footwear outfitter, Tretorn, on a limited run of canvas sneakers for the summer. The Tretorn summer staple gets a slight Comme des Garçons twist with crisp, clean lines and green piping to finish the look. Tres bien have them for a snip at €94
