In addition to crafting a Vans Old Skool sneaker, emerging Russian designer Gosha Rubchinskiy has also collaborated with the esteemed skate brand for two new pairs of Vans‘ Classic Slip-On. The low-top skate shoes sport an identical design motif, which consists of a cream coloured canvas stitched alongside two printed pieces, as seen on the back heel and toe box on the shoe’s upper, and finished with a white midsole marked by a blue colored band that wraps around the shoe. Retailing for €95 EUR, both pairs can be purchased from select stockists

Y-3 Spring Summer 2015 Footwear Collection

Y-3 Spring Summer 15 | The Style Raconteur

Y-3 are smashing in at the moment with this seasons introduction of the Qasa and Boost silhouettes which was going to bw hard to top but they have done it again for the second season on the bounce. They have just unveiled the remaining styles in its latest 2015 spring summer footwear collection. Adopting a predominantly muted colour palette of black and white, the lineup encompasses models such as the new Qasa Retro Boost, Laver slip-on, Held 2 high-top, Kaohe sandal and Kohna Futuristic as well as two of the original Qasa silhouettes. While the sneakers incorporate incognito colours, the materials utilized create an interesting effect like with the rest of the previous releases, where we find neoprenes, suedes and leather accents tastefully adorning different areas. The above boost is the winning style for me. UNITED ARROWS‘ BEAUTY & YOUTH imprint has teamed up with Vans again this spring for a successor of sorts to last year’s pack of Harris Tweed-constructed kicks. Featuring both the Authentic and the Classic Slip-On, the new release is highlighted by a digital camouflage motif across the entirety of each silhouette’s upper while co-branding is subtly incorporated along the footbed. Look for both pairs to be available soon via UNITED ARROWS’ online store.

Next up for Supreme is this upcoming collaboration with Vans on a Bruce Lee-themed footwear pack. The “Bruce Lee” pack offers up the Sk8-Hi and Authentic silhouettes with Bruce Lee graphics featured throughout. The Sk8-Hi features a large Bruce Lee graphic printed across the quarter and will be offered in two colourways. The Authentic features a collage print of Bruce Lee across the entire canvas upper and will be offered in three colorways. No word yet on a release date but a release sometime towards the end of this year seems likely. Stay tuned for more.

Vans x Engineered Garments

Vault-by-Vans-x-Engineered-Garments-Collection-635

In the sneaker world, it seems like new collaborations drop every hour on the hour, but this is one that’s definitely worth talking about. Engineered Garments designer Daiki Suzuki has a way of making even the most mundane clothes fresh and new. His vision of Americana filtered through a keen eye for fit, finish, fabric, and a nod to the future is what netted him our award as the Best New Menswear Designer in America in 2008. An avid surfer, it’s not too surprising to see Suzuki collaborating with storied sneaker brand Vans. The Vault by Vans line has always offered interesting takes on old classics from the likes of WTAPS and Taka Hayashi, but the Engineered Garments collab takes things to a different level. Influenced by ’70s skate rags and an emphasis on quality materials, the Authentic LX gets reimagined in a hardy 12 oz. Sunforger cotton canvas and a reversed olive sateen, but the real star is the Classic Slip-On LX, done up in three different colored leathers–the kicker is that both uppers mix up smooth leather with a slubby, unifinished hide. It’s an awesome wabi-sabi twist on a classic sneaker.

The shoes launch on Tuesday, September 10
