Converse x Nigel Cabourn Chuck Taylor 1970 Hi “Ventile”

20140319-142654.jpg

Today we get a first look at the next collaboration between Converse and heritage brand Nigel Cabourn. After previously having done the Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey and the Plimsole, Nigel Cabourn worked on the Chuck Taylor 1970 this time. Giving it a white upper and red details and branding, the look is clean and perfect for the summer months that lie ahead. The designer used Ventile fabric for the upper, making the shoes weatherproof, which is a subtle, yet exciting feature on these. The sneakers will release at select retailers on March 21.

20120229-112650.jpg

Named “Desert Rats” after the 7th Armoured Division, the Nigel Cabourn Spring/Summer 2012 collection is a study of the uniforms and civil clothing worn by their officer Field Marshal Montgomery. The New Pocket Tenzing Jacket Camo is originally part of the Everest collection, but it also fits perfectly here along with the Bombay Bloomer Shorts. Made from a very light, yet durable cotton drill camouflage cloth both pieces define Cabourn’s vision and referencing.

Red Wing and Nigel Cabourn’s Tokyo flagship, THE ARMY GYM, have come together once again on a new exclusive release. Based on Red Wing’s most ubiquitous casual style, moc-toe boot is seen in a sage colorway similar to a release that took place early this year. The boot features a mojave leather upper for a high degree of water resistance in a familiar 6-inch boot. LINK

Nigel Cabourn Everest Parka

As the cooler weather looms ever closer, which we hope won’t begin until late October, this is probably the best time to stock up on the warmer pieces. Enter in the Nigel Cabourn Everest Parka in all its vibrant orange glory.

Based on the exact jacket Sir Edmund Hillary wore during his Antarctic and Everest expeditions during the 1950’s, this jacket is made with the utmost care and incredible attention to detail. The military inspired piece is constructed from 100% Ventile proofed cotton tightly woven producing a water-proof design. The jackets insulation is made from Norwegian duck down and completely hand filled. It also features a tunnel hood with a sheepskin collar and coyote fur trim with an adjustable bracing wire..Purchase at Present
