Stone Island Thermo Sensitive Jacket & Knit

Stone Island have created two jackets using thermo-sensitive, color-changing technology for their Autumn Winter 2013 collection. The fabric is comprised of a water and wind resistant polyurethane film that is embedded with micro-encapsulated pigments, causing it to change color as the temperature changes. Available in two styles – the Ice Jacket-J is a collared button-up that uses the thermo-sensitive fabric all over, while the Knit features thermo-sensitive fabric on the torso, knit black sleeves and a hood. Check out the video they’ve released that tracks the colour change. Buy Stone Island Autumn Winter 2013 HERE

British Heritage brand, Wolsey’s knitwear is looking canny good for Spring Summer 2012. ‘Addy’ is a cardigan that updates the classic vintage bomber jacket with a contemporary shape. Featuring double folded cuffs & hemline detailing with slanted side pockets. The gold front fastening snaps on the cardigan give it an understated edge. This garment is given a modern look with a clean on-trend boxy silhouette. Wolsey Striped ‘Caesar’ Sweater

Wolsey is making waves at the moment, with an amazing collection this season. This sweater is  a simplistic shape reworked to give a contemporary take the traditional nautical summer stripes that we see season after season. The Caesar crew neck striped sweater is a lightweight knit made in a luxurious cotton slub yarn. It is a reversed knit constructed with a raglan ‘inside out’ seam finish, roll end sleeves and neckline and finished with Wolsey’s signature 1755 branding on the sleeve. Perfect with chinos for the summer!

Folk Spring Summer 2012 : Van Mildert

Van Mildert has just taken delivery of their Spring Summer 12 Folk stock and have produced some pretty cool imagery to go with it. For me this is up there with one of Folk best seasons, with Autumn Winter 2012 being the best collection they have ever done. T-shirt prints are again strong, also make sure you cop the slightly reworked rain jacket which seemed to sell out in minutes last season. Buy the collection here

Stone Island 30th Anniversary: Refelective Knit Preview

In 2012 Stone Island will be celebrating its 30th anniversary. Having started in 1982 with just one fabric in six colors, the brand never stopped to innovate and is today doing better than every before. During Pitti Uomo Summer 2012, they will be hosting a show and a retrospective showcasing the brand’s vast archive and key areas. Furthermore they will be releasing a book for its 30th anniversary, featuring 300 iconic images. The book will release June July 2012.

Of course there will also be special product for the occasion. One of three specials, we are allowed to speak about – the Reflective Knit.

“Transferring technology from fabric to yarn, the ultimate in Stone Island research. Created using a Reflective yarn, built with micro plates covered with thousands of glass microspheres enclosed in a polyester net, printed using pressure/heat sublimation to melt the fibers and get an even surface with a jersey and high performance Windstopper® liner.”

North Sea Clothing AW 2010 Collection

Here is some impressive knitwear that is part of the great North Sea Clothing Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection. “The Submariner Sweater was War Office issue to the Royal Navy in both World Wars. In the 1950s motorcyclists adopted them to wear under a Barbour or Belstaff jacket to keep out the cold. They used be available from army surplus stores until about 10 years ago until original supplies “dried up”. These hard-wearing sweaters are manufactured by a family firm in Nottinghamshire, England, using pure new wool and will last for years

the Submariner, the official sweater of the British Navy in WWII. The wool used in its yarns are not washed prior to spinning, consequently the natural lanolin left in the wool means the sweater is essentially waterproof and able to keep out even the most bitter chill.

Available exclusively at the Garbstore, this simple understated plain turtle neck is 100% pure new wool and completed with Garbstore own NSC stencilling added, this is as the plain Submariner, with black body, navy arms this makes for a compelling product.

In addition the Expedition Sweater, available in white and navy, this shawl neck sweater is made of the same wool as the Submariner, a 5 gauge knitting British wool from the same factory in Nottingham. It’s based on a 1930s original sweater and is a slightly different fit to the submariner. The arm patch (shown in detail in the attachments) is a replica of the Sunbeam owners’ club run to Brighton which has been going  for the last 71 years. It’s all in the details.

APC Leather Patch Jumper

We’ve always got room for elbow patches in our wardrobe, so this APC crewneck is a no-brainer. The maroon colour is great for folks who can’t wait for autumn to arrive and the leather elbow patches are great for folks who like the off-duty geography teacher!

Our Legacy Mahattan Knit

Swedish folks understand what Jason Dike says best, “the English desire to wear knitwear at all times.” Our Legacy’s Manhattan Knit is perfect for balmy evenings staring at the White Cliffs of Dover or trying to pick up posh birds in Cornwall!
