Every  summer when we are waiting for the new football season to start enjoyment is to be had in the releases of all teams new kits…(apart from the year my own team brought a shitty red checked one out!) and the World Cup kits are the same. Nike has just unveiled England‘s new home and away kits ahead of the team’s campaign at this year’s World Cup in Brazil. The new kits pack the latest in technical innovations from Nike while sticking to an aesthetic inspired by classic England kits of the past and St. George’s cross. The all-white home kits are a direct reference to the ones worn by England in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico and feature an engineered pinstripe in the fabric, white satin tape on the shoulders and a subtle metallic weave on the Three Lions crest. The away kit plays up the national symbols of England and features a subtle, tonal pinstripe design with a graphic interpretation of St. George’s cross on the front that can only be seen when viewing the jersey from a distance. The away kit also features a unique treatment that makes it come to life under UV light. Look for the new kits on the backs of the England players when the team takes to pitch in Brazil.

Nike Sportswear ‘England’ Air Max 1 & Destroyer Jacket

I still havent accepted that my national teams kit is made by americans, nothing against them obviously but Englands kit should be english. Any how this little pack has moved me towards welcoming them…they have worked up these special “England” Air Max 1s and Destroyer jacket. The Air Max 1 keeps things relatively subdued with a black-on-black colorway, a gold star representing England’s 1966 World Cup victory and red eyelets representing St. George’s cross. Meanwhile, the Destroyer jacket borrows cues from classic English design with details including British Millerain waxed cotton arms, four gold pins, and embroidery celebrating 150 years of the FA. Both pieces will be releasing at Niketown London and Harrods on May 28.

Umbro England 2012 Football Shirt

Umbro have unveiled the new England shirt, always a highly anticipated release and the first time the design is purely white with red trim makes for an interesting design. Featuring a woven collar with red inner stripe rib and striped rib cuff detail on the arms, the shirt also features an embroidered red England crest and red Umbro double diamond on the chest. Front body darts provide extra fit and comfort, while under-arm panels offer extra movement and breathability. A certain amount of controversy has come about the release of a new shirt following the previous design was only worn eight times by the national team, creating a bit of frustration by the fans. In my opinion not a patch on the last two home shirts. None the less, a great design and one that will be seen on the pitch, on the terraces and on the streets. Heres the new keeper jersey as well..
