Supreme x Levis Type 1 Jacket

Supreme-x-Levis-Type-1-Jacket-2

I’ve always known that there were a bunch of  options available from Levi’s for their eponymous “trucker” jacket (corduroy, collars, colours), but I didn’t know until very recently that the jacket you probably already have hanging in your wardrobe is also known as the “Type III” Jacket. Why does that little tidbit of history matter right now? Because the jacket that it’s originally based on, the Type 1, just got the Supreme treatment. Available in red, black, navy, olive and a very train conductor hickory stripe, the Type 1 is back with a slimmer, custom Supreme fit and a houndstooth lining on the inner yoke. Like the classic Type 1, there’s only one flap pocket and the waist adjuster is a slide closure. I love the stripe and the red for the summer.

Nike SB x Levis ??

20120420-085327.jpg

More than just a mere photo, this patch is worth a thousand words. On the familiar Levi’s Two Horse patch and next to patent granted date of May 20th, 1873 is an unfamiliar addition, the Nike Swoosh. Already seen through various leaked images, including one by Nike SB team member Omar Salazar, the patch heralds the secretive denim collaboration between Nike SB and Levi’s More information to come as the collection’s release date approaches. For now we can only speculate what the collaboration will encompass of. Maybe a pair of denim Nike SB Dunk? Or Nike Jeans??? Hope it not the latter note Adidas attempt at jean!!

Topman Denim Jacket Project

20120405-104224.jpg

Firstly I’m a huge fan of the classic denim jacket, and these are some of the best I’ve seen in a long time.

The Denim Jacket Project sees the high street store commission six British and American designers to have a crack at reinventing the classic jean jacket. It’s no easy feat: the jean jacket has long been a staple of men’s wardrobes. While fashions come and go (stone-washed, indigo or acid wash denim, slim fit or boxy), the general idea hasn’t changed a huge amount since Levi’s started producing them in the early 1900s.

One most high profile name on board is the British designer Oliver Spencer, known for his relaxed casual tailoring and outerwear. Here he has taken inspiration from the classic leather biker jacket and recreated it in a bright blue denim.

I expect one of the most popular jackets will be the one by Katie Eary, who has used bleached out denim and added a detachable borg collar. It’s an unassuming, simple design – until you unbutton it. It’s lined in a bold animal print. Very on-trend this spring is the offering by Topman Design, which is my particular favourite Topman’s in-house design studio. It’s based on a 1930s shape and has been created made from a dark, polka dot printed denim. The other designers on board are Lou Dalton, Shaun Samson and Mark McNairy. See all the designs below

Denim Jacket Project launched yesterday , April 4, and is available at Topman Oxford Circus, Topman General Store Shoreditch, Topman General Store Seven Dials, Topman.com, Harrods, Selfridges, Topman Manchester Arndale.

Gucci Embroidered Denim Shirt

I KNOW.. I know I shouldnt like this but I do, embroidered Gucci denim shirt with gradient fading, Navajo-style stitch detail, metal stud embellishment and a frayed granddad collar. A striking update on a classic, this front buttoning piece has been hand finished so no two garments are identical. Anyway ‘haters’ your not gonna see many people kicking around in it as it retails for £1690. Ballers buy here!

Edwin For Liberty Of London Denim

From Selectism – “Liberty of London continues their aggressive collaborative campaign – the latest in the form of selvedge denim with the Edwin line. “These classic Edwin ED-55 denim’s are made from our exclusive 140z Japanese Red Selvage, with the subtle addition of the classic Liberty print used in the detailing of some of the internal components of the denim. This is a truly beautiful pair of jeans, limited to just 100 pieces.”

Big John x Naked & Famous Denim

I met the guys from N&F in Paris this year all I can say is that these Canadian boys know their denim, talking to them for ten minutes their enthusiasm was infectious. They have come together with the first name in Japanese denim, BIG JOHN for this collaboriative pair of 14 oz jeans in the Weird Guy cut.

Using BIG JOHN denims made to the specifications outlined in the 1940s, these are some real rough cowboy style jeans with antique copper details, hidden rivets, and plenty of other stuff to make denim geeks drool.

Stussy Red Line Denim

Stussy have created this impressive line of denim entitled the “Red Line”, derived from core elements of making denim timeless. Consisting of a heavy washed denim. Detailing is down to the finer points and ads to the quality with the Union Specials and red selvedge lines.

Christian Louboutin Denim Rollerboy Spikes

I shouldn’t like these bad boys but I do very much so. Spring/Summer 2011 will see the release of another colorway in Christian Louboutin’s famously popular Rollerboy Spikes. The slip-ons will come in a denim colorway outfitted with spike detailing throughout the entire uppers, complemented well with wood colored outsoles. The price on these is set at $1,245 USD, with availability through Christian Louboutin if you have a US hook up.
