Nike Flyknit Racer Lunar Max ‘Concept’

Flyknit Racer Lunar Max | The Style Raconteur

NIKE YOU GOTTA PRODUCE THESE…..MSTRPLN brings to life a concept throwing some of Nike’s most iconic designs of years past together with some more recent advanced shoe technology in what he is calling the Flyknit Racer Lunar Max. The upper uses the beloved and cozy king Nike Flyknit Racer while the sole goes with the recent Lunar Air Max 1 technology. Throw a speckled midsole on top of that and you can go ahead and take our money now. While this is still a concept illustration done by MSTRPLN there must be something in the pipeline.

Fondue Slippers by Satsuki Ohata

Fondue-Slippers-0

These look fu*cking strange but I am compelled to want to have a pair just to see how comfy they really are.  As soon as you lay eyes on these slippers you can see right away why they use “Fondue” in their name. The concept is very simple, you dip your foot into the PVC plastic, let it harden and presto you have a perfect fit pair of one of a kind slippers. These are currently in the early staged of production as far as Ohata making household kits that will eventually be shipped to customers that can be done in the comfort of their own home so stay tuned for more information once we get it and these become available to actually purchase.

Presented by Selectism and Concept by Cruise, installation by Johnny Buttons, real life, three dimensional model people sported the line while Santiago Arbelaez’s East London film played in the background. Many thanks to friends and family who stopped by and to all those involved in the night.

Concept by Cruise x Trickers : The Unusual Suspects

Full-Comp-2000

Concept is the little brother of indi store Cruise…their first design collaboration is with master-shoemaker Trickers. The debut is a subtle slimmed down reworking of the classic long wing Richard & Bourton brogue. Each style has been given a unique character and name pertaining to each material used.

The “Habana” Longwing pays homage to all things Cuban (minus the ridiculous heel) constructed from rich Cuba waxed suede uppers and subtle brogue detailing. The shoe is finished off with a Barbour Welted Danite sole for added durability.

Habana-Pair Habana-Lace Habana-Heel

The “Aristocrat” Longwing pays homage to sartorial function and English eccentricity. Reworking the classic Richard Long Wing with a slimmed down contemporary fit they are hand made using the finest Naster Burnished calfskin and feature a bold contemporary twist in the form of a vibrant orange Itshide sole.

The “Artiste” Bourton Derby Brogue takes an obscure reference from the Sienna clay used in the production of oil paint pigments and is crafted from textured Sienna scotch grain leather and contrasting Dainite sole.

The “Highland Fox” Bourton Derby Brogue pays homage to the elusive fox of the Outer Hebrides seen here in rich coppery brown Reppelo suede.

The Hill-Side Spring Summer 2013 Lookbook

the-hill-side-2013-spring-summer-lookbook-1

Brooklyn-based company The Hill-Side has added some life to the typically uninspired world of ties and handkerchiefs, and not just through its use of patterning. The company, established by brothers Emil and Sandy Corsillo, used creative .gifs to build their most recent lookbook. Whereas wearing a tie or scarf necessitates that the object move with you, the moving images in this lookbook reverses those roles — making the wearer inanimate and adding more personality to the pieces themselves. The products range from lush silk dotted scarves to sharp, slim native-print ties, all of which display an independent attitude. The Hill-Side’s Spring Summer 2013 lookbook can be seen in its entirety here

New Apple iPhone 5 Concept

20120622-175138.jpg

When I first spotted those leaked images of what was claimed to be the next-generation iPhone’s rear panel, I wasn’t keen on the two-tone aluminum look, and I found myself wondering what Jony Ive was up to inside Apple’s design labs. But now that I’ve seen a few mockups of that design, I’ve changed my mind, and come October I would love this to be at the end of those long queues at Apple. In fact, the latest mockups, created by Martin Hajek, look absolutely incredible.

Apple iPhone Plus 5 Concept

20120511-084457.jpg

We love iPhone concepts, because not only do they project the future, but they make us dream for more. Based on the most recent rumors of the upcoming iPhone (or iPhone 5 or whatever else you want to call it), the same folks that dreamed up the incredible Instagram Socialmatic Camera, also came up with the iPhone Plus. The designers of ADR Studio included a thinner liquidmetal body, 4.3″ Retina display, A6 Quadcore processor and lots of others features into their so called iPhone Plus. Obviously this will not become reality, but to a certain degree it will and that we find inspiring.
