Canada Goose Behind The Scenes

Canada Goose | The Style Raconteur

Gear Patrol recently visited the factories of Canadian institution, Canada Goose. The outdoor imprint has dedicated itself to the craft of keeping people warm and protected since 1957. However, the brand truly defined itself for the modern era in 1972, when CEO Dani Reiss’ father David Reiss invented the down-filling machine which led to a new range of ultra-wear and now iconic jackets. Since then, the Toronto-based Canada Goose has forged ahead in maintaining a close and intimate relationship with both the product it creates and the people it protects. The brand has recently opened the doors to a new showroom, design studio and factory that enables the rapid iteration and design of new products. This close-knit approach will further build on the credibility and growth the iconic brand has had over the course of the last half century. Denham presents the third generation of its fusion winter-parka/denizen smock for Autumn Winter 2013. Retaining the vintage military DNA of previous iterations, the jacket continues to embrace Mackintosh’s water-resistant fabrics, with a unique hybrid finish that incorporates Loden wool alongside the traditional gabardine and latex membrane. This mix creates a water resistant barrier whilst repelling the elements and providing additional heat. The latest version of the Mac Station also includes familiar functional Denham features like the Cable Connection closure, Reverse Tape-Through Buttons, Flip-Snap Cuffs, Removable Brassard, pit venting, interior half-lining, boxed button waist adjuster and internal neoprene iPad and iPhone pockets. The hallmark of Burberry London‘s sensibility is modernized interpretations of the brand’s classic outerwear, seen here in the short slim-fit cotton-twill trench coat. Made in the UK from durable cotton-twill in a neutral cream hue, this waist-length trench updates the century-old Burberry raincoat staple. Details include buttoned epaulettes, two button-through front pockets, adjustable cuffs, storm flap and side adjusters. A concealed button front, topped with hook and eye collar fastening, gives way to a plaid cotton lining.
