Two of the world’s most relevant top models and two generations of UK top models, finally got together for the new “My Burberry” fragrance campaign by English fashion houseBurberry – Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. Photographed by Mario Testino in black/white, the two appear for the first time in an ad together for the brand, after having both worked with Burberry on other campaigns in the past. We really like the simple beauty of the campaign, as Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne appear only wearing the iconic trench coat by the brand.
The hallmark of Burberry London‘s sensibility is modernized interpretations of the brand’s classic outerwear, seen here in the short slim-fit cotton-twill trench coat. Made in the UK from durable cotton-twill in a neutral cream hue, this waist-length trench updates the century-old Burberry raincoat staple. Details include buttoned epaulettes, two button-through front pockets, adjustable cuffs, storm flap and side adjusters. A concealed button front, topped with hook and eye collar fastening, gives way to a plaid cotton lining.
Burberry brings back some more old for Autumn 2010. “Introducing the Burberry Brit Fishtail Parka. A timeless, iconic classic updated for AW10. The Fishtail Parka was first developed by the military in 1951 to protect soldiers from the elements and during the 1960’s in the UK the fishtail parka became a symbol of the mod subculture. Due to their practicality, cheapness and availability from army surplus shops, the parka noted as the ideal garment for fending off the elements when on a scooter.”
Burberry re-imagines their trenchcoats and jackets for the change of weather. Their “April Showers” collection for Spring 2010 features new colorways on their classic cuts. While the trenches are in focus right now, the stow away jackets have caught our eye. Their simple front finish and packability make them appealing for those days when weather changes like girlfriends.
