Stussy IST Varsity Jacket

stussy-2014-fall-winter-ist-varsity-jacket-1Streetwear staple brand Stussy has gone back to its roots and returns this season with a new iteration of its ”IST Varsity Jacket.” In a retro-inspired aesthetic, the hooded wool garment features contrasting varsity stripes on the bottom and cuffs, while leather sleeves are also set in a different color to bring out the nostalgic feel even further. The jacket then adorns a large “INTERNATIONAL Stussy TRIBE” motif on the rear, with more brand patchworks on the front chest area. Finishing touches include branded buttons, leather-covered pockets and a quilted interior. The jacket was one of the earliest unifying representations of Stussy’s global influence as select International Stussy Tribe members were gifted with jackets as a token to the movement. Available in a black and white colorway as well as a grey and white option, the jacket will soon be available at Stussy Chapter Stores in Japan.

Givenchy Leather Star Baseball Jacket

Never one to shy away from leather, Givenchy offers this black leather baseball jacket sporting its signature star design. The stars are embroidered in an understated black while the jacket itself remains minimalistic in style. Black ribbed cuffs are used for the sleeves, collar and waist, while metal snap buttons are used for closure. Without needing to compensate with flash, the Givenchy Leather Baseball Jacket leaves it up to the quality in construction while keeping things simple in design.

Japanese brand WTAPS have teamed up with the heritage fabrics brand Harris Tweed on an exclusive varsity jacket. Moving on from their penchant for reinterpreting military outerwear, this time they’ve opted for a contemporary variation of the classic varsity silhouette. They’ve enlisted the help of Scottish textile company Harris Tweed who provide a handwoven exterior, which is adorned with contrasting orange stitching and orange leather pocket detailing, and a plush quilted lining. You can purchase it now from HAVEN.

Comme des Garcons SHIRT Baseball Shirt

comme-des-garcons-shirt-2013-spring-summer-baseball-shirt-1

I really like this COMME des GARCONS SHIRT  classic baseball shirt, its very clean & crisp…perfect for the Summer. Obviously inspired by the short-sleeve jerseys worn on baseball diamonds across the world, this casual menswear take on the piece features cotton poplin construction and subtle details like pleats at the back yolk, dropped shoulders, a curved hem and a single breast pocket.

Nudie Jeans Martin Jacket

Nudie mate amazing jeans, and to be honest I wear them 99% of my life but from the waist up has always not quite got there for me. This winter that could all change a this jacket is pushing my buttons.

The Martin Wool Rib Jacket   – a take on the classic American baseball silhouette but a signature injection of Nudie as seen with every statement piece created by the Swedish brand. Martin is produced in a checked blue and grey dense wool blend fabric with quilted ecru cotton lining adding a much needed element of comfort, perfect for the upcoming winter nights. The jacket pays an astute attention to detail, featuring black-coated denim jetted pockets, customized pop buttons and orange Columbia stitching run along inside front.

McQ Alexander McQueen Baseball Jacket

The late British fashion designer Alexander McQueen’s McQ outlet has recently released a rather understated take on the classic baseball bomber jacket, a style I am slightly addicted to at the moment. The multi-shaded is made from a breathable cotton. It has a very cool tailored shape to it. Contrasting buttons match the hints of black fabric seen at the collar as well as around the welt and wrists, while little to no branding has been implemented on the exterior. Available now

Duffer Claypool Baseball Jacket

Duffer continue their run of interesting products with this baseball sweat. Still designed by the same team who made Duffer into the label it was pieces like this remind you why you liked Duffer in the first place. If we had to nitpick, we’d say that the logo is approaching Rugby levels of sheer huge-ness, but aside from that we have no other nits to pick.
