The Jordans Obama Got Before Anyone Else…

obama-exclusives

Remember a few weeks back when President Obama visited the Nike campus to talk about the Trans-Pacific Partnership that has caused quite the stir since? Well, as another part of the trip, the leader of the free world also received some custom sneakers. No, these aren’t your struggle NikeiD Huaraches or some shit because, again, this is the Commander-in-chief we’re talking about. Obama got laced with two new renditions of the Jordan I and Jordan XXIX and T Magazine got the exclusive look at the pairs that OB Obama might very well cross up his chief of staff in on the White House court. Though, like, you gotta let him win regardless. You can’t be out here posterizing the dude with the power to send you straight to Guantanamo. OG Nike design legends Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker, plus the Jumpman himself, Michael Jordan, teamed up to create the two pair “MTM” pack Nike is releasing in June in celebration of 30 years of the Air Jordan brand. Obviously, when you’re the goddamn president, you’re firmly team early. I mean, nobody is a bigger #influencer than the big homie.

The Jordan Is get a slick FlyWeave construction in black and grey, while the XXIXs come in smooth black leather. The sneakers will be dropping in a crazy limited two-pair pack on June 13th at NikeLab Paris and later on June 26th at Jordan Brand’s website and select Jordan outlets for a rumoured hefty £460

The Nike Air Max 1 has something uniquely special to showcase for Valentine’s Day this year, imitating the infamous Air Jordan 1 “Bred” in the latest colorway for the romantic occasion. We’ve seen it happen before, as the Nike Tiempo ’94 released in an ‘Air Jordan 1 Pack’ not too long ago. Tinker’s 1987 creation returns in a premium all leather construction to mimic MJ’s first silhouette, as alternating panels of black and red rest atop a clean white midsole. The heel even get a ‘Nike Air’ stamp of approval in an homage to the ‘Wings’ logo found on the ankle collar of the AJ1. Air Jordan 1 Laser 30th Anniversary

Jordan Brand looks to commemorate its 30th anniversary by bringing back the somewhat-scrutinized laser treatment. Here we get a look at the technique on the special “30th Anniversary” edition of the Air Jordan 1 Laser. The white leather upper is overshadowed by metallic laser printing utilized all throughout. A 3M reflective Swoosh brands the pair alongside, matching the tongue tag marking accordingly. Equipped with tonal laces, the AJ1’s then showcase a translucent outsole on the bottom. Look for the Air Jordan 1 Laser “30th Anniversary” to release on February 8

Undefeated x Nike Lunar Force 1 Low SP

Nike-AF1-UNDFTD | The Style RaconteurLos Angeles based Undefeated started the year by hooking up the Nike Lunar Force 1 in two colorways. For the high top edition, the sneaker was given a red suede upper with the lows styled in a jacquard print.

The Undefeated union with Nike continues as the legendary shop has hooked up two low top editions of the Lunar Force 1 for October. The concept remains the same, shaggy suede and jacquard.

Playing off the colors that they used back in March, one of the sneakers is set in university red and white in a jacquard print while the second dons black shaggy suede. Unifying the two styles, each is mounted on a white speckled soles with UNDFTD signature orange on the lining. The duo are set to launch 14th November.

Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 by Lance Mountain

nike-sb-x-air-jordan-1-by-lance-mountain-5The second installment in the crossover between Nike’s skateboarding and Air Jordan canons comes courtesy of skate veteran Lance Mountain. Though regarded as a legend for his contributions to pool and jump ramp shredding in the late 1980′s, Mountain also introduced Michael Jordan’s first professional model to skateboarding’s fashion sense – purely by circumstance. Around the time of Bones Brigade’s highly-influential In Search of Animal Chin video, Mountain filmed his footage in mismatched Air Jordan 1‘s, customized with paint markers and multi-colored laces for durability and uniqueness – a style reiterated in this current incarnation. Over 20 years later, here we find the Air Jordan 1 silhouette done up with premium black leather uppers, detailed respectively with red and blue accents. As each pair is worn away, the shoe becomes an individual statement – exactly as those radical Californian punks intended years ago. A video below gives Mountain’s take on the shoe, which releases online and at select Nike SB retailers on June 7.nike-sb-x-air-jordan-1-by-lance-mountain-4 nike-sb-x-air-jordan-1-by-lance-mountain-5 nike-sb-x-air-jordan-1-by-lance-mountain-6 nike-sb-x-air-jordan-1-by-lance-mountain-1 nike-sb-x-air-jordan-1-by-lance-mountain-2 nike-sb-x-air-jordan-1-by-lance-mountain-3
