Made in the UK backpacks from Aguille find their way into Albam stores with this collaboration collection. Makers of some fine Alpine gear, Aguille are first and foremost an outdoors brand, producing goodlooking products coming second to function. Four great colourways, Admiral Blue, Dark Grey, Mid Blue & Orange – these are waterproof and ready for action.
We have seen The North Face Back to Berkeley series dominated by boots in the past; however, they are extending the line to include backpacks. In a similar fashion that the footwear pays respect to the homage of the outdoor brand, these backpacks are a reincarnation of their classic backpack design. Hidden inside the minimal silhouette is the drawstring compartment on the interior. The exterior is made from canvas material, which has been coated to offer water resistance and durability. Thick suede leather makes up the bottom of the bag and zipper pulls. Three colorways are currently in available at oki-ni online shop for pre-order with the delivery taking place in October.
Rumoured to have been in development for well over 6 years, fashion designer & sculptor Aitor Throup will finally launch his much touted line of products. In a recent exhibition entitled New Object Research Aitor revealed for the first time to the public one of the 22 archetypes to be included within the first range, the Shiva Skull Bag. The military inspired bag is constructed out of exact specifications based off of the shape of a human skull made up in tweed and leather and represent a clear direction of an almost scientific approach taken by the Aitor within his range. The bag is set to release globally at a few retailers early 2013.
Certainly famous for their extremely detailed and functional luggage line, visvim reprises the ever-popular 20L daypack with a return of the LAMINA CORDUROY. This time around the colors are a tad brighter to suit the sunny summer days ahead, with a new use of hand-dyed suede for the accent patches and bottom shelf. The corduroy used proves to be a rugged-yet-soft material to withstand urban lifestyles and outdoor activities. Now available online for a small fortune!
The Patagonia Stormfront Backpack has a simple, minimalist design but still packs a punch in terms of functionality, highlighted by a waterproof exterior crafted from a 840-denier double polyurethane-coated nylon fabric with a waterproof/corrosion-proof zipper…Exactly what we need from going tonand from work!!! Details include an internal zippered mesh pocket plus custom-fit padded gear case with adjustable divider, as well as a removable shoulder-strap harness that enables the backpack to convert to a stand-alone dry bag.
The NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL continues to dabble in floral print with their latest bag collection. With five different offerings to choose from – including the One Shoulder Bag, Medium Day Pack, Tote Bag, Tote Bag Small and Shoulder Bag, the strength of this collection is in its diversity. Along with the floral print tying the pieces together, a universal green, canvas strap is utilized throughout.
Herschel Supply Co. are back on their grind this season with a familiar, fan favourite design — the Walton duffle bag. This time around, they have opted for an eye-catching two-toned colour design in a red/khaki mixture. The duffle has several key features packed into its design, including two large zip closure external pockets, interior pockets, and detachable shoulder strap. But my standout favourite detail is the external shoe compartment. We’ve all been in that situation travelling where even with shoe bags, you just don’t feel comfortable packing them next to your clothing. Available from their website and no doubt every Urban Outfitters in the world.
Dries Van Noten releases a beautiful handmade messenger in washed khaki canvas and brown Italian leather. And while its labeled a messenger we can see it being an ideal overnighter or weekender. It is also available in blacked out leather and canvas if stealth is your thing (Andy Malone I’m talking to you!).
This weekender bag by Ally Capellino is about as casual as it gets. Perfect for that weekend bender with your friends. You won’t have to worry about getting a drink spilt on it, or getting it dirty. This bag is meant to take some punishment, so there’s no need to treat it like a porcelain doll. And should you decide to take it on a flight, you’ll be in the clear to store it in the overhead compartment due to its large but manageable dimensions. Available with the rest of the collection here
