Adding to the list of collaborations for this year’s re-release of the Stan Smith, adidas Consortium has teamed up with Japanese designer Shigeki Fujishiro to give the Stan Smith a fun makeover with this “PLAY” pack release. Expressing his fascination with spacial relationships — a familiar theme for the designer — Fujishiro has added colored string to the classic silhouette to give a new look to the perforated Three Stripes. The rest of the shoe is kept clean and simple in all white leather, which serves as a great backdrop for the playful string designs. Look for the Stan Smith “PLAY” pack at No.6 London, No.42 Paris and No.74 Berlin stores and select adidas Consortium partners.

To mark the opening of its Nike Berlin flagship store on Tauentzienstr, the athletic wear giant created a special color scheme based on last year’s Nike Air Max 1 SP “German Camo” from the popular “Country Camo” Collection. Technically known as Flecktarn, or “Spotted Camouflage” in German, the disruptive pattern became a standard issue among the Heer (Army), the Luftwaffe (Air Force), and the Marine (Navy) of Germany by the early 1990s. Comes in variations of 3-, 4-, 5- and 6- color patterns, other nations also apply similar design to their combat uniforms, including India, China, and Japan.
50 pairs were made of this Nike Air Max 1 SP “Camo – Germany”, though sold to friends and family only. There will another opportunity still as Sneaker Freaker Germany and BEINGHUNTED hosts a giveaway this week. In the meantime, you can visit the new Nike Berlin West at Tauentzienstr. 9-12.

Last year seemed an especially great time for Riccardo Tisci, with the designer collecting numerous accolades for his work with Givenchy as well as receiving a general recognition on the streets. It seems like Nike is set to team up with the Italian designer in 2014, with the news coming from a special report by Style.com. Items from the collection will carry the label Nike RT, and are set for release in stores and on Nike’s website sometime in the spring. While the nature of the collaboration is still under wraps, its safe to speculate that a line of radical footwear is likely in store. Given Tisci’s knack for the gothic aesthetic so ubiquitous in streetwear these days, Nike RT looks to be a hit for the forthcoming season. Look for more news on this as it arrives in the coming weeks.
