Missoni Desert Boot

desertMissoni brings its own touch to the classic desert boot for their Spring/Summer ’13 line with meticulous craftsmanship and the brand’s signature patterns. Their take on the desert boot has the classic suede upper decorated with embroidered detailing that sits atop a leather and crepe sole…over the £350 mark which may stop a few purchasing though.

Common Projects Spring Summer 2013

20130130-091745.jpg

When founders Prathan Poopat and Flavio Girolami started Common Projects, their mission was to create minimalist, comfortable sneakers, made in Italy using only the finest materials. In addition to a utilitarian design, the shoes were virtually anonymous, with exterior branding limited to the article number and shoe size, factory-stamped in gold foil near the heel. The brand’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection is largely an extension of that original mission statement, with new slip-on sneakers, tennis shoes and crepe-soled loafers joining reliable standbys like the Achilles and Tournament, finished in new colours and materials for spring.

Mark McNairy x Tres Bien Wool & Suede Boots

mcnairy style raconteur

Mark McNairy the collaboration king who has worked with more people than I’ve had hot dinners has come together with  Très Bien again  with this latest rendition of a Brogue Boot, and to be fair smashes it out of the park. Made in the UK from suede and wool, small detailing like the waxed rounded laces and pull heel tab provides a nice touch while the leather lining, red colored stormwelt and vibram sole completes a great design. Will be buying as soon as I finish this post

Vans Vault x Diemme Buffalo Boot

In an interesting collaboration, Vans Vault has gotten together with Italian shoe maker Diemme on the Buffalo Boot LX. Diemme presents the Buffalo Boot in an outdoor aesthetic inspired by their own Roccia Vet silhouette, rebuilding the vulcanized model with welted construction methods. Waterproof suede uppers, gusseted tongue, Vibram outsole, metal hardware and heavy duty hiker laces are utilized in this collaborative redesign for complete protection against the elements. Finished off with debossed co-branding, the Vault by Vans x Diemme Buffalo Boot LX ships this month in root and black/mouton offerings. Look for more Vault projects with Diemme in spring 2013.

A Bathing Ape Mountain Sta

For the urban explorers out there A Bathing Ape has just released the hybrid Mountain Sta sneaker. The high top Mountain Sta blends traditional hiking boot details with a modern sneaker sole for a new look. The suede upper is complemented by D-ring lace hooks, hiking boot laces and a contrasting leather ankle collar. Available in a more traditional looking beige colorway as well as sporty black colorway, both feature a thick white rubber sole.

Danner Light Boot 80th Anniversary Edition

20121108-143935.jpg

Based in Portland, Oregon, Danner has been making boots since 1932. To celebrate the occasion, the label has hooked up this special edition of its Light boot. The movers were manufactured in Portland using Horween sourced leather and GORE-TEX on the upper, which is built on a Goodyear welted Vibram Kletterlift sole.

Trojan Records x Clarks Originals 40th Anniversary Desert Trek

Clarks’ limited edition 40th anniversary Desert Trek shoe.  Accompanying this is the brand’s collaboration with the musically iconic Trojan Records. The efforts involve a commissioning of four artists to remix original tracks from the record company’s archives for Clarks’ #ORIGINALSREMIXED campaign, commemorating Jamaica’s 50 years of independence. Bringing the focus back on the shoe, the Trojan Records x Clarks Desert Trek model is offered in tan leather, a unique style that differs from the original Brown leather or suede versions known to most. Notable detailing includes a brandished Trojan logo on the quarter and the Desert Trek logo hit on the heel, while the insole reveals the model’s celebrated title.

Swims Autumn Winter 2012

The Norwegian climate has never been one kind to footwear. The wet season often required footwear to revolve around either old beaters or galoshes, both which yielded little sartorial flair. The creation of SWIMS looked to redefine the modern-day galosh, providing an intersection of timeless shoe designs with waterproof and water resistant performance. The range of offerings spans some familiar favorites including desert boots, brogues and Chelsea boots. Look for SWIMS at select retailers globally.

Nike Sportswear Air Max Wardour 1

Nike Sportswear’s latest silhouette, the Air Max Wardour 1 is offered in two new colourways for the 2012 Holiday. In granite and black options, the Wardour sits somewhere between a boot and the Air Max 1, which I think works nicely. A couple of technical features have been thrown in for good measure, including a D-Ring lacing and Air unit in the heel. The Air Max Wardour will be dropping at retailers in October.
